Navy Bike Ride 2024 - Quebec, Qc

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Navy Bike Ride event on Friday June 14th 2024 in Quebec City is now open. The application deadline is Thursday May 2nd at 1200 EST.

AIM AND SCOPE OF THE EVENT: 
The Royal Canadian Navy’s footprint can be found all across the country so we invite you to celebrate our coast-to-coast Navy presence by taking part in the 2024 Québec Navy Bike Ride as a part of Team Soldier On on Friday June 14th 2024. Participants will be able to choose the distance of their ride from 20k, 28k or 100k. 
*Participants must have their own bike and helmet. 

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 12 (twelve).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from the Quebec Region located in Québec-Lévis geographical area (90 min car travel). who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Selected Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate. 

DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Friday June 14th 2024 :
- 09h00 Participants arrival at Québec Pointe-à-Carcy (Naval School)
- 09h30 Participants briefing
- 10h00 Official Ride Start (20k - 28k - 100k)

TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Participants are advised that transportation and meals will not be provided by Soldier On for this event. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location. 

Mental & Physical Requirements:
Applicants must be able to tolerate from 2 hours to 5 hours (20k, 28k or 100k of bike ride) of light/moderate paced activities. Due to the busy activity schedule, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day. 

Applicants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment.

COMMUNICABLE DISEASE PREVENTION:
Soldier On, PSP and CAF TG aim to provide a safe environment for all participants and staff. To ensure everyone’s safety, applicants understand that they should aim to adopt personal practices focused on communicable disease prevention such as health awareness, staying home when sick and regular hand cleaning to help prevent the spread.
