Canoe and SUP experience - Québec
The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Canot and SUP experience on September 9th and 10th 2025 in Québec is now open.
The application deadline is Friday August 15th at 12:00.
AIM AND SCOPE OF THE EVENT:
Soldier On is organizing a Canoe and SUP experience in collaboration with
www.canotslegare.com and
www.yoginomade.com on September 9th and 10th 2025. Participants will join a friendly and experimented instructor to learn and develop their canoeing and paddle board techniques. Regardless of the current skill level, up to 12 participants will have the opportunity to use water sports as part of their recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration.
The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 12 (twelve).
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)
from the Larger Québec City Region (within 90 min of car travel) who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate.
DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Tuesday September 9th / 10h00-14h00 (Canoe)
Wednesday September 10th / 09h00-10h30 (SUP) / 11h00-12h00 (Yoga and Relaxation)
TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Participants are advised that transportation will not be provided by Soldier On for this event. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location. Participants will need to bring their own personal lunch on Tuesday Sept 9th.
Mental & Physical Requirements:
Applicants must be able to tolerate 4 hours of light to moderate outdoor paced activities for 2 days in a row. Due to the busy activity schedule, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day. Participants must be comfortable in and around water, and able to follow verbal instructions and safety protocols in a dynamic, outdoor environment. Basic mobility, balance, and coordination are required to move safely on and around the canoe/SUP, including stepping over edges, crouching, and shifting weight. Participants should be prepared for extended periods of sitting or standing in varying weather conditions, including exposure to sun, wind, and rain. Applicants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians and therefore should be able to function in a social environment. Please note that activity may be cancelled and rescheduled due to thunderstorm but will continue even under rain.
