Alberta and Northern Canada Golf Camp

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the 1-5 Sept 25 Alberta Golf Camp is now open. The application deadline is 14th Aug 25.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT: 
Soldier On in collaboration with various Edmonton geographical area golf courses is happy to announce we are hosting the Soldier On Alberta and Northern Canada golf camp running from 1-5 Sept 25.  


The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 14.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from the Alberta and Northern Canada (NT/YT) who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Selected Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate. 

**Participants are responsible for providing their own clubs and will be required to abide by the golf course outlined dress code.

DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

01 Sept 25 (Travel day/instruction at night) 
16:00 hrs:  Check inn to accommodations (for those living outside the Edmonton Geographic location) 
16:45 hrs: Supper at mess (if staying at base accommodations)
17:30 hrs: Driving range 

02 Sept 25 (The Quarry) 
Morning Drills at base driving range (Time TBC)
11:03 hrs:  First tee time (scramble format with the Edmonton Oilers Alumni) 
Lunch/Supper at the Quarry

03 Sept 25 (Barrhead Golf course) 
Morning Drills at base driving range (Time TBC)
11:00 hrs:  First tee time 
Supper at the Barrhead Golf Course

04 Sept 25 (Trestle Creek) 
Morning Drills at base driving range (Time TBC)
1100 hrs:  First tee time at Cougar Creek
18:30 hrs:  Wrap up supper at the WO and Sgt Mess

05 Sept 25 
Travel Day 

TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Travel assistance will be provided and coordinated by the Soldier On Regional Coordinator in conjunction with Soldier On Operations. The most economical means of transportation to and from events will be prioritized and discussed with members via the event OPI or delegate.  DND vans will transport the selected applicants from the 3 CDSB to the golf courses.   

Mental & Physical Requirements:
Applicants must be able to tolerate 7 hours of light/moderate paced activities for 4 days in a row.  Due to the busy activity schedule, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day.    *note: carts will be provided for every golfer and in order to maintain a acceptable pace of play everyone will ride in a cart.  

Applicants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a respectful social environment. Applicants are advised that the activity and meals for this event is located at Canadian Armed Forces bases/facilities, and thus they may be exposed to a day-to-day military environment. Applicants also acknowledge that there will be no alcohol allowed in the accommodations.
