Golf & Pickleball - Blue Mountain Resort

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Blue Mountain Resort Golf & Pickleball Event, Blue Mountain, Ontario 25-27 Aug 2025 is now open. The application deadline is 27 July 2025.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT: 
This event will give participants the opportunity to learn pickleball, play two rounds of 18 holes of golf and explore Blue Mountain. Participants will have the opportunity to experience additional activities to include hiking, tree top trekking and illuminated night forest walk. Participants will be staying on site and will be required to share accommodations.  

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 10.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from Southern Ontario region who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Selected Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate. 

DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

Monday 25 Aug - Wednesday 27 Aug 2025
25 Aug - 1300hrs – Arrive, meet and great, pickleball instruction and check into the hotel. 
26 Aug - AM Golf , PM forest walk.
27 Aug - AM Golf, PM departure.

TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Travel assistance will be provided and coordinated by the Soldier On Regional Coordinator in conjunction with Soldier On Operations. The most economical means of transportation to and from events will be prioritized and discussed with members via the event OPI or delegate.
Meals will be provided throughout the event, meal purchased while traveling will be eligible for reimbursement.

Accommodations will be arranged and paid for by Soldier On. Accommodations are double Occupancy, 2 participants will be in one room.

Mental & Physical Requirements:
Applicants must be able to tolerate 5-8 hours of moderate paced activities for 3 days in a row. Due to the busy activity schedule, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day.

Applicants must be able to swing a golf club and a pickleball paddle without issue and must not be in violation of their MELs.

Applicants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment.  Applicants also acknowledge that there will be no alcohol allowed in the accommodations and will be required to share accommodations.
