SHILO GOLF DAY

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Shilo Country Club Soldier On Golf Day on Thursday, 21 August 2025 is now open. The application deadline is Thursday, 07 Aug 25.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT: 
Soldier On, in collaboration with Shilo Country Club, is hosting the Shilo Country Club Soldier On Golf Day in Shilo, MB. This will be a one-day event held on Thursday, August 21, 2025.

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to twelve (12).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Shilo/Brandon geographical area who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Selected Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate. 

DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

Thursday, August 21, 2025
0945-1000 hrs: Participants arrive at Shilo Country Club, equipment preparation & event briefing
1000-1130 hrs: Golf lessons
1130-1245 hrs: Lunch (provided by SDP)
1300-1730 hrs: Conduct activity – Golf 18 Holes
1745 hrs: Wrap up and departure

Transportation & Meals:
Participants are advised that transportation will not be provided by Soldier On for this event. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location. The following meal will be provided during the event: LUNCH

Mental & Physical Requirements:
Participants must be able to tolerate six (6) hours of moderate paced activities. Participants must be able to swing a golf club without issue or being in violation of their MELs. Due to the busy activity schedule, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day. 

Participants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment. Participants are advised that the activity for this event is located at CFB Shilo and thus they may be exposed to a day-to-day military environment.
