Multi-Region Horse Camp

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the E-ON / S-ON Multi-Region Horse Camp from 25-29 May is now open. The application deadline is 29 April 2026.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:
Soldier On, is hosting a five-day Horse Camp at DreamCatcher Farm, Inverary ON from 25-29 May 2026.  with May 25th & 29th being travel days for out-of-town participants. Soldier On participants will learn the art of horsemanship including the skills of working with horses, which encompasses riding, handling, training, and overall care. It involves understanding horse behavior, anatomy, and psychology to build a harmonious relationship between horse and rider. Good horsemanship is about obtaining results with minimal effort, using a combination of balance, seat, hands, and legs.

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 12.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from the Soldier On Eastern and Southern Ontario Regions (does not include the NCR) who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate. 

DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
25 May 2026:

• Travel day for out of town participants. (Arrival a CFB Kingston no later than 16:00

26, 27, 28 May 2026:

• 0900 - Welcome and intro to the farm/ranch tour/ chores.
• 0930 - Horsemanship Instruction.
• 1230  - Lunch.
• 1330 - Horsemanship instruction continues.
• 1600 - Event Ends.
• 1700 - Dinner.
• 1800 - Personal Time.

29 May 2026: Travel day for out of town participants.

TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Travel assistance will be provided and coordinated by the Soldier On Regional Coordinator in conjunction with Soldier On Operations. The most economical means of transportation to and from events will be prioritized and discussed with members via the event OPI or delegate.  The following meals will be provided during the event: Breakfast and Dinner meals will be provided at the Base Kitchen, Routledge Hall, while lunches will be provided on site.
