Canadian Flavours Cooking Class

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Canadian Flavours Cooking event on 13 May 2026 is now open. The application deadline is 23 April 2026.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:
Ready to learn a new skill? Ready to enhance your cooking skills? Ready to explore new ingredients?  Soldier On members, in collaboration with Rampant Kitchen, will spend a day creating and exploring a variety of flavours from across Canada while preparing a four-course meal for their enjoyment.  The menu will consist of: Spring salad with asparagus, garlic scapes, tomatoes, and apple cider vinaigrette. Chicken soup with Acadian dumplings. Arctic Char with roasted PEI potatoes, cucumber salad, and yogurt. Butter Tarts

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 10.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from the Eastern Ontario Region within a reasonable driving distance to Inverary, ON (this does not include registered members from the S-ON or NCR Regions) who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Selected Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate.

0845 – Arrivals and Introductions
0900 - Cooking begins (Once prepared, the four-course meal will be enjoyed by participants)
1500 – Event Ends

TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Participants are advised that transportation will not be provided by Soldier On for this event. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location. The following meal will be provided during the event: The self-prepared dinner as described in the event description. There will be no variences.
