Mosaic Lamp Workshop - 2026 - Vancouver, BC
The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Mosaic Lamp Workshop on March 12th, 2026 from 1430 - 1730 is now open.
The application deadline is 27 February 2026 @ 1200 PST.
AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:
Soldier On is extremely excited to be partnering with Mosaic Art Studio in Vancouver for a 3-hour hands-on workshop!
In this workshop, you’ll dive into the art of mosaic making while learning more about Turkish culture. With the help of the instructors, you'll be using small colorful glass pieces and beads, you’ll design and create your own Turkish mosaic lamp from start to finish. It’s a fun, creative experience where you can relax, get artistic, and make something truly unique. When the lamp is finished and lit, it creates beautiful patterns of light and color.
You’ll take your finished mosaic lamp home with you at the end of the workshop!
The number of Soldier On participants is limited to
10.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)
from the greater-Vancouver area, or within a 90-minute drive of Vancouver proper, who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate.

TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Participants are advised that meals and transportation will not be provided by Soldier On for this event. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location, travel and meals are not eligible for reimbursement for this event
Mental & Physical Requirements:
Applicants must not be in violation of any medical employment limitations (MELs).
Applicants must have sufficient finger dexterity to safely handle small glass pieces, glue, and tools used in mosaic art.
Applicants should have adequate strength and mobility in the hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, and back to comfortably create a mosaic piece during the workshop.
Applicants must be comfortable working in small groups and sharing a creative space.
Applicants will be joined by other ill or injured members as well as civilians, and should be able to function comfortably in a social environment.
Applicants acknowledge and agree that no alcohol will be permitted during the workshop.
