Intro to Pottery Fredericton

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the INTRO TO POTTERY, 4, 11, 18, 25 FEBRUARY 2026 is now open. The application deadline is 15 JANUARY 2026.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:
Soldier On is offering a 4-week Intro to Pottery program at the Unity Community Centre for beginners. Participants will learn basic pottery tools and safety, explore simple hand-building techniques, receive an introduction to the pottery wheel, and learn the basics of trimming, glazing, and kiln firing. No prior experience is required, and participants will take home a few handmade pieces.

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 8.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from the Fredericton Area who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Selected Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate. 

DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: 
4, 11, 18, 25 FEBRUARY
0850hrs- Arrive and Check in with OPI
0900hrs- Introductions and Opening Remarks
0905hrs- Instruction and practical activities
1145hrs- Clean up for the day
1200hr- Departure

TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Participants are advised that meals and transportation will not be provided by Soldier On for this event. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location, travel and meals are not eligible for reimbursement for this event.
