Ski & Snowboard Days - 2026 - Pakenham, ON
The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the E-ON / NCR Pakenham Ski Days on 3-4 February 2026 is now open.
The application deadline is 12 January 2026.
AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:
Soldier On, Eastern Ontario and the National Capital Regions, will host
Alpine Ski & Snowboard Days at the Mount Pakenham Ski Resort on 3-4 February 2026. This will include group Alpine and Snowboard ski lessons at the beginner and intermediate level on both days. Para-Skiing instruction is available if required. All rental equipment, including helmets will be provided for those who indicate the requirement, and plenty of free ski time is available after the lessons are completed.
Equipment and instruction will be provided. The facility is wheelchair accessible.
The number of Soldier On participants is limited to
14.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)
from E-ON Region and the NCR Region within a reasonable drive to Pakenham, ON who
acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.
Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate and must have the authorization form submitted to the E-ON Soldier On Regional Coordinator by the application deadline.
DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: Daily
0830 Arrival and equipment draw.
0900 Ski / Snowboard instruction (2 hours 3 Feb; 1 hour 4 Feb) followed by Skiing / Snowboarding
1200 Lunch
1300 Skiing / Snowboard Continues.
1600 Wrap Up
TRANSPORTATION, ACCOMMODATIONS & MEALS:
Participants are advised that transportation or accommodations
will not be provided by Soldier On for this event. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location.
A lunch meal voucher will be provided for use at the canteen each day.
Mental & Physical Requirements:
Applicants must be able to tolerate
7 hours of moderate paced activities each day. Due to the busy activity schedule, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day. Participants should have basic upper body strength, flexibility, mobility, and the mental focus needed to safely follow instructions and engage in sustained practice, with adaptations available for specific needs.
Applicants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment.
