Pottery Workshop - 2026 - London, ON

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Pottery Workshop London Ontario, 27 January 2026 is now open. The application deadline is 4 January 2026

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:  
This local event will serve as an introduction to pottery. participants will gain basic potter wheel, as well as clay hand building skills. Over a day long introductory session participants will be guided through molding their creations on a pottery wheel as well as hand building clay into a figure. Assistance throughout the event will be provided courtesy of Cottage Pottery Studio. All equipment and supplies will be provided to the participants for this event.

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 10.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from the London Ontario and surrounding areas who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Selected Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate. 

DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Tuesday 27 January 2026 
9:45 AM - Arrival; 
10:00-1200 - Pottery wheel throwing;12:00 PM - Lunch; 
1:00- 3:00PM - Clay hand modeling; and 
3:10 PM - Departure.

TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Participants are advised that transportation will not be provided by Soldier On for this event. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location. lunch during the event will be provided. 

Mental & Physical Requirements:
Applicants must be able to tolerate 5 hours of moderate paced activities for the day. Participants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment. Applicants also acknowledge that there will be no alcohol consumption allowed during the conduct of this event.
