Winter Sports Discovery - 2026 - Quebec
The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Winter Sports Discovery 2 - 6 February 2026 is now open.
The application deadline is 7 January 2026.
AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:
Soldier On members are invited to participate in the
Winter Sports Discovery, an inclusive program delivered in collaboration with community partners and Personnel Support Programs (PSP). Designed to accommodate all abilities, the camp offers a diverse range of winter activities, including cross-country skiing, fat biking, an alpine skiing simulator, curling, and a full day of alpine skiing with professional instruction. All activities are tailored to support beginner and intermediate skill levels. Set within the scenic winter landscapes of Quebec, the camp provides a welcoming, supportive, and accessible environment for all participants. This program presents an excellent opportunity to explore and develop winter sport skills at an individualized and comfortable pace while enjoying a rewarding and engaging experience.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)
from Quebec, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate.

- Arrival and travel day for participants coming from outside the local area
Tuesday, 3 February – Thursday, 5 February 2026
- Fat Biking, Cross-Country Skiing, Alpine Skiing Simulator, Curling and Full Day Alpine Skiing with lessons
Friday, 6 February 2026
- Travel home for all participants
TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
For participants
outside the local Quebec area, Soldier On will provide and coordinate travel assistance, accommodations, and meals. The Soldier On Regional Coordinator, in conjunction with Soldier On Operations, will ensure the most economical transportation options to and from the event. All travel, accommodations, and flight bookings will be arranged by Soldier On and coordinated directly with participants through the event OPI or their delegate. For
local participants within Quebec city region, meals will be provided during the event. Travel assistance will not be available for local participants, but accommodations and meals will still be provided as needed.
Mental & Physical Requirements
Applicants must be able to tolerate 6-8 hours of moderate-high paced activities for 3 days in a row. Due to the busy activity schedule, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day.
Our Winter Sports Discovery event is designed for all abilities, with each activity adaptable to individual needs.
To safely and enjoyably participate in the large variety of sports and activities throughout the week participants should possess moderate endurance, balance, core stability, leg strength, some motor control skills and the ability to follow instructions. Note that adaptations can be made to all activities to accommodate specific needs. Our team is dedicated to creating a supportive, inclusive experience for everyone.
Applicants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment. Applicants are advised that the activity and meals for this event is/may be located at Canadian Armed Forces bases/facilities, and thus they may be exposed to a day-to-day military environment Applicants also acknowledge that there will be no alcohol allowed in the accommodations, and will be required to share accommodations.
