Horse-riding in West Hants, NS
Soldier On will be hosting a horse-riding day at Serenity Acres Family Ranch on the 28th and 29th of October from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. This will include two full days of getting acquainted with the horses, grooming, finishing off with a guided Trail Ride. All equipment will be provided by the host.

No transport will be supported for this and a buffet or BBQ style lunch will be offered to members.
This event is open to anyone within 1.5 hour’s drive from the location (i.e. Halifax, Shearwater, Truro, Greenwood, New Ross, Chester).
Regardless of the current skill level, the participants will receive expert instruction on horse riding and safety.
- This day will start with some basic instruction and getting acquainted with the horses;
- Then, grooming and learning how to saddle the horses, walking the horses;
- Then, lunch and visit to the animal petting area;
- Finally, the horseback trail ride.

Serenity Acres Family Ranch.
The number of Soldier On participants is limited to six.
Minimum eligibility criteria
All participants require a vaccine passport and must be fully vaccinated in accordance with the current public health measures outline for businesses and our service provider needs to comply with.
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from the Halifax/ Shearwater geographical area who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Medical clearance may be required by your chain of command.
Mental & Physical Requirements.
Participants must be able to tolerate six hours of light to moderate paced activities for two consecutive days. Due to the nature of the activity and safety of the other participants, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day.
Participants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment.
