E-ON Lee Valley Festive Creations - 2026 - Kingston, ON

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the E-ON Lee Valley Festive Creations Event to be held in Kingston ON, on 17 November 2026 is now open. The application deadline is 30 October 2026.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT: 
Soldier On, Eastern Ontario Region in collaboration with Lee Valley will host a Festive Creative event at Kingston, ON on 17 November 2026.  This event will include two activities, with the creation of Festive Door Hanger made from boughs in the morning, followed by some fun wood burning (pyrography) on ornaments in the afternoon.  All equipment is provided.

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 8.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from the E-ON region within a driving distance of 2 hours to Kingston who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Selected Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate. 

DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

17 November

• 0900-1200 Festive Door Hanger
• 1200-1300 Lunch
• 1300-1600 Wood Burning on Ornaments

TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Participants are advised that transportation and accommodations will not be provided by Soldier On for this event. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location.  A group lunch at a local restaurant will be provided.

Mental & Physical Requirements:
Applicants must be able to tolerate 8 hours of moderate activities.  Due to the busy activity schedule, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day.  Applicants may be required to stand for long periods while working with tools. Applicants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment.
