Operation Sugar Rush - Brandon, MB

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Operation Sugar Rush Event is now open. The application deadline is 28 Oct 2026 at 2345 hrs central time.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT: 

Calling all Wisk-Takers! Soldier On, in collaboration with the Manitoba Institute of Culinary Arts - Assiniboine College, will conduct a 3- hour baking class, where participants will work with experienced instructors in an immersive, small-group environment to make winter themed baked goods. No prior baking / culinary experience needed. 

This activity will bring together both serving and retired ill/injured CAF members, allowing participants to connect through peer support and encourage a healthy and active lifestyle. 

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 10.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from the Brandon / Shilo  area (& surrounding 100 km) who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Selected Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate. 

DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Wednesday 18 Nov 2026:

-1750 hrs: Arrival and introductions;

-1800 - 2100 hrs: conduct event;

-2100 hrs: Event complete & depart.

TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:

Transportation:
Transportation will not be provided by Soldier On for this event. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location.

Meals:
Event participants will be able to take home their baked goods.
