DIY 3D Sign Workshop

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the DIY 3D Sign Workshop on the 16th of December 2025 is now open. The application deadline is 21 November 2025.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:  
Soldier On is excited to host a fun and creative night out exclusively for Soldier On members, in collaboration with Urban Rustic DIY Studio located in Sackville, NS. Join us for an evening of camaraderie and creativity where you’ll have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals while crafting a personalized project from Urban Rustic’s carefully curated project selection. 

Each attendee will select  their own unique project, choosing from a variety of rustic signs and décor items designed to suit any style or space. During the workshop, you will receive guided, step-by-step instruction from experienced Urban Rustic artisans to help you bring your chosen project to life. All necessary materials and tools will be provided, ensuring you have everything you need to complete your project with confidence. By the end of the event, you will leave with a professional-looking, handcrafted sign or décor item ready to go. This is a wonderful opportunity to unleash your creativity, unwind, and create lasting memories with fellow Soldier On members in a warm, supportive environment.

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 20.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from with in a 1.5 hour drive from the event location who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Selected Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate. 

*NOTE FOR SERVING MEMBERS: The selection of serving members for activities outside their local regions for which members will be on TD will align with CAF direction on financial expenditures.

DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

Workshop date: Dec 16th, 2025, 600pm to 830pm.

TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Participants are advised that meals and transportation will not be provided by Soldier On for this event. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location, travel and meals are not eligible for reimbursement for this event.

Mental & Physical Requirements:
Applicants must be able to participate in light-paced activities continuously for approximately 2.5 hours. Due to the event’s busy schedule, participants should require minimal rest breaks throughout the session. Safety precautions are important, as the workshop involves the use of tools and materials such as drills, hammers, screws, nails, sandpaper, glue, resin, glass, and paints. 

Participants will be working alongside other ill or injured members as well as civilians, so the ability to engage comfortably in a social setting is essential. Additionally, applicants should be aware that alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited during the event to maintain a safe and focused environment for all.
