E-ON Pottery Workshop - 2026 - Pembroke, ON

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the E-ON Pembroke Pottery Workshop on 6,7,8 & 14 October 2026 is now open. The application deadline is 18 September 26.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT: 

Soldier On, in collaboration with Bumpy Roads Studio, will host a Pottery Clinic on 6,7,8 & 14 October 2024 in Pembroke, ON.  While all sessions are dedicated to working with clay and creativity, the fourth session allows time between sessions for the pottery to be cured before the final firing and finishing work. Each session will be 3 hours in duration. Instruction is provided and participants will learn basic pottery practices including, wheel techniques, handcrafted pottery and pottery firing. Each participant will finish with a few personal creations. Each session will be held from 0900-1200 AM.  A signed Bumpy Roads liability waiver from participants will be required in order to participate. 

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 10.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:  
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from the Eastern ON Pembroke region  who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Selected Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate. 

DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

0900 – Welcome briefing and introductions;
0910 – Class begins; and
1200 – Class ends and wrap up.

TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:

Participants are advised that meals and transportation will not be provided by Soldier On for this event. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location, travel and meals are not eligible for reimbursement for this event.
 

Mental & Physical Requirements

Applicants must be able to tolerate 3 hours of light/moderate/high paced activities each day. Due to the busy activity schedule, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day. 

Applicants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment.
