Adaptive Sport Program

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Adaptive Sport Program, consists of six weekly sessions running from July 20th to August 31st, 2026, is now open. The application deadline is 6 July 2026 @1200 PST.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:  

The Adaptive Sport Program will consist of six 2-hour sessions held every Monday from July 20th to August 31st, with the exception of August 3rd due to the holiday. Each session is designed for Soldier On members to learn and experience a new adaptive sport, helping participants discover what they enjoy and may wish to continue pursuing independently in the future. The program aims to introduce members to a wide variety of adaptive sports in a supportive and engaging environment. Several experienced coaches and sport instructors who regularly teach adaptive sports will be involved in leading the sessions and providing instruction. 

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 20.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from the greater-Victoria area, or within a 90-minute drive of the Victoria proper, who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Selected Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate.

0930-1130 Monday July 20th: Wheelchair Basketball 
0930-1130 Monday July 27th: Wheelchair Basketball 

Monday August 3rd: Holiday 
0930-1130 Monday August 10th: Wheelchair Tennis 
0930-1130 Monday August 17th: Wheelchair Rugby 
0930-1130 Monday August 24th: Sledge Hockey 
0930-1130 Monday August 31st: Sledge Hockey

TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:

Participants are advised that meals and transportation will not be provided by Soldier On for this event. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location, travel and meals are not eligible for reimbursement for this event.
