GOLF CLINIC: Vancouver
The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the GOLF CLINIC: Vancouver 6-7-8-9 June 2025, is now open.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:
Golf is coming back to the mainland!
Soldier On is teaming up with Drive Golf Academy for a hybrid simulator and on course four-day clinic and course play event!
Are you feeling a little bit out of practice? This event may be perfect for you! Selected participants will have the opportunity to receive instruction from a local golf professional, take in the strategy of the game by navigating the Links at Hampton Cove Golf Course and perfect their skills on an indoor simulator! What a better way to start off the season?
This is a four-day event that will require attendance for all days.
Participants will be required to provide their own clubs.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)
from the Greater Vancouver area (within 60min driving radius of Vancouver proper), who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate.
*NOTE FOR SERVING MEMBERS: The selection of serving members for activities outside their local regions for which members will be on TD will align with CAF direction on financial expenditures.
DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
June 6 (the Links at Hampton Cove)
1430-1900 50 minute on course clinic + 9-holes on The Links at Hampton Cove + Welcome Dinner
June 7 (Drive Golf Academy)
1400-1900 Simulator lessons in two groups
Group 1: 1400-1630
Group 2: 1630-1900
June 8 (Drive Golf Academy)
1400-2000 Simulator 18-holes in two groups
Group 1: 1400-1700
Group 2: 1700-2000
June 9 (the Links at Hampton Cove)
0730- 1200 9-hole on-course Tournament + Wrap Up Lunch
TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Participants are advised that dinner on the evening of 6 June and lunch on the 9th June will be provided however, no other meals will be provided. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location, travel and meals are not eligible for reimbursement for this event
Participants are encouraged to bring water and a snack to consume during the sessions.
Mental & Physical Requirements:
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)
from the Greater Vancouver area or within a 1hr driving radius who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.
Applicants must be able to tolerate up to 4-hours of moderate paced activities for four-consecutive days. Due to the busy activity schedule, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day.
Applicant must not be in violation of MEL's.
Applicant must retain general mobility and strength in limbs required to perform a full or adapted golf swing. Should applicant require additional joint support, they are encouraged to bring it.
Applicants should also be aware that they will have limited access to power carts for on course play.
Applicants must maintain general strength and agility to ambulate over uneven terrain.
Applicants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment.
Applicants are advised that the Simulator is located in a local mall and are to expect general ambient noise and mall activities.
