Fly-tying Clinic in Oromocto, NB
On April 20 from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m., Soldier On will be hosting a fly-tying clinic with the assistance of avid fly-angler and passionate supporter of the Soldier On program, Ray Dufour. Ray will offer six participants a day filled with equipment information sessions and fly tying demonstrations. Participants will learn and tie their very own Woolly Bugger, Muddler, Mickey Finn, and Green Machine flies.
Facilitation will be primarily in English, though instructor is fluently bilingual to answer questions in both official languages.
This activity will bring together both serving and retired ill/injured CAF members, allowing participants to connect through peer support and encourage a healthy and active lifestyle.
This workshop will allow participants to gain knowledge about fly-fishing, learn fly-tying techniques and gain the confidence to tie their own flies when choosing to pursue the sport of fly-fishing.
Through small group instruction, this opportunity will give participants an opportunity to learn the art of tying their very own flies for fly-fishing. Participants will tie four different flies and learn which flies are best in different scenarios. This activity also proves to be a great relaxation activity.
Ray Dufour will provide assistance throughout the event.
The number of Soldier On participants is limited to six.
