Introduction to Community Radio - Winnipeg, MB

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Introduction to Community Radio event on Thursday, November 6, 2025 is now open. The application deadline is Sunday, October 26, 2025.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT: 
Soldier On, in collaboration with CJNU 93.7 FM, located in Winnipeg, MB, will conduct a 4-hour community radio workshop, where each participant will be introduced to community radio broadcasting to include a tour of the station, discussion on key components, its significance, its future, and types of broadcasting. Participants will also have an opportunity to practice broadcasting through training scenarios.

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to six (6).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from the Winnipeg area, who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Selected Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate. 

DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

Thursday, November 6, 2025
0945 hrs: Arrive at CJNU, introductions and event briefing
1000-1200 hrs: Conduct event
1200-1300 hrs: Lunch (Provided by CJNU1300-1400 hrs: Conduct event 
1400 hrs: Depart.

TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Participants are advised that transportation will not be provided by Soldier On for this event. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location. Lunch will be provided by CJNU (pizza).
