GOLF CLINIC: Crown Isle
The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the GOLF CLINIC: Crown Isle 10-11 July 2025, is now open.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:
Golf is coming back to the Courtenay-Comox area!
Soldier On is teaming up with Crown Isle Golf Club for a two-day golf clinic!
Are you feeling a little rusty? Need to shake off the cobwebs? Is your season not going the way you want it to? This event may be perfect for you! Selected participants will have the opportunity to receive instruction from a local golf Pro and take in the strategy of the game by navigating the beautiful Crown Isle course. What a wonderful way to spruce up your mid-season game.
This is a two-day event that will require attendance for both days.
Participants will be required to provide their own clubs.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)
from the Courtenay-Comox area (within 60min driving radius), who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate.
*NOTE FOR SERVING MEMBERS: The selection of serving members for activities outside their local regions for which members will be on TD will align with CAF direction on financial expenditures.
DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
10 July: Day 1
90 min Clinic
1300-1430
11 July: Day 2
Clinic and 18-holes
1400- complete
*Team dinner will follow
TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Participants are advised that only a closing dinner will be provided on the 11th July however other meals and transportation will not be provided by Soldier On for this event. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location, travel and meals are not eligible for reimbursement for this event
Participants are encouraged to bring water and a snack to consume during the sessions.
Mental & Physical Requirements:
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)
from the Courtenay-Comox area or within a 1hr driving radius who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.
Applicants must be able to tolerate up to 4-hours of moderate paced activities for two consecutive days. Due to the busy activity schedule, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day.
Applicant must not be in violation of MEL's.
Applicant must retain general mobility and strength in limbs required to perform a full or adapted golf swing. Should applicant require additional support, they are encouraged to bring it. Applicants should also be aware that they will have access to power carts for on course play.
Applicants must maintain general strength and agility to ambulate over uneven terrain. Applicants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment.
