Alt. National Golf Camp 2025 - Halifax, NS
The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Alt. National Golf Camp 27 July - 1 August 2025 is now open.
The application deadline is 20 June 2025.
AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:
As part of the Soldier On National Golf Series, Nova Scotia will host members from Atlantic Canada at multiple golf courses in and around HRM from 27 July to 1 August. This event will offer participants the opportunity to learn from local pros during clinics and play various courses while connecting with peers who share a passion for golf.
These clinics will help participants experience the ultimate enjoyment of golf while revisiting the fundamentals and improving current skill levels. Participants will receive expert instruction on golf techniques and strategy, to include, but are not limited to, full swing, chipping and putting. Each clinic will be followed by a round of 18-hole golf.
Participants are responsible for providing their own clubs and will be required to abide by the golf courses’ outlined dress codes.
The number of Soldier On participants is limited to
12.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)
from Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, PEI and New Brunswick who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate.
*NOTE FOR SERVING MEMBERS: The selection of serving members for activities outside their local regions for which members will be on TD will align with CAF direction on financial expenditures.

TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Travel assistance will be provided and coordinated by the Soldier On Regional Coordinator in conjunction with Soldier On Operations. The most economical means of transportation to and from events will be prioritized and discussed with members via the event OPI or delegate.
Meals during the event will take place at the mess or as a group meal at the golf course.
Mental & Physical Requirements:
Participants must be able to tolerate 6-8 hours of moderate paced activities for 4 days in a row. Due to the busy activity schedule, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day. Participants must be able to swing a golf club without issue and must not be in violation of their MELs.
Applicants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment. Applicants are advised that the activity and meals for this event will be located at Canadian Armed Forces bases/facilities, and thus they may be exposed to a day-to-day military environment. Applicants also acknowledge that there will be no alcohol allowed in the accommodations.
