Adaptive Sports Day in Shilo, MB

Soldier On and PSP Shilo, in collaboration with Manitoba Wheelchair Sports Association and Manitoba Volleyball, will host an Adaptive Sports Day at CFB Shilo on May 27 from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This activity will bring together CFB Shilo serving CAF members and serving and retired ill/injured Soldier On members, allowing participants to connect through peer support and encourage an active and healthy lifestyle.

The event will provide an opportunity for Soldier On and CFB Shilo participants to be introduced to, and learn more about, adaptive sports, to include sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball, and wheelchair rugby, all of which are sports in the upcoming Warrior Games. Everyone will have an opportunity to try each sport, regardless of your illness or injury.

This is open only to registered Soldier On serving or retired members and serving CFB Shilo CAF members in the Shilo/Brandon geographical area. Participants will be provided with all required sports equipment and will have an opportunity to try each adaptive sport. There is no cost and assistance is provided in registration and filling out the waiver if requested. Costs related to travel assistance and meals will not be reimbursed for this event.

Join current and former players from Team Canada for instruction, demonstration and fun matches in sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, and a fun game of goalball!
