Unleash Your Creativity

Soldier On will be partnering with Frances Litman to host a virtual workshop called Unleash your creativity: Mixed media mashup over two days on Tuesdays the 23rd and 30th of March, 2021 in BC.

Eight ill/injured serving or retired members of the Canadian Armed Forces will receive two introductory creative arts workshops to assist in the continuation of a healthy lifestyle.

This activity will bring together both serving and retired ill/injured CAF members, allowing participants to connect through peer support and encourage a creative lifestyle. The aim of this activity will be to be to introduce participants to a variety of techniques and exercises to help unleash everyone's creativity in a new ways and discover their inner artist.

No art experience is required.

Participants will be given the opportunity to learn creative art through virtual instruction and hands on experience. You will do this by trying a variety of paints and art supplies/mediums and incorporating the written word as art. You will be encouraged to have fun and use creativity, as this is a great way to have everyone explore things they may never have tried and can continue to do at home after the workshop.

Then, in the second session, you would build on your creation from the first class. You will use some of the things you created in the first class to create more layered and textured pieces incorporating collage and explore simple and affordable display methods for enjoying and showing our work. Workshops will be conducted on the virtual platform ZOOM.

All supplies are included. The Regional Coordinator will coordinate the delivery by mail or in-person with the selected participants. Assistance throughout the event will be provided courtesy of Frances Litman.

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to eight.
