Trenton Golf Days

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the E-ON Trenton Golf Days on 25 & 26 July 2024 is now open. The application deadline is 15 July 2024.

Soldier On, in collaboration with the Roundel Glen Golf Club, Trenton, ON is hosting an Introduction to Golf complete with golf instruction and two 9 hole rounds of golf. This event will be held on both 25 and 26 July 2024. This local golf event will provide an opportunity for Soldier On participants to learn or improve basic golfing techniques through instruction and play.  Participants will learn under the guidance of a Canadian Golf Teaching Professional Lisa Fleming.  Each day will culminate in playing 9 holes of golf.

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 12.

Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from Eastern Ontario within the Trenton, Kingston, Brockville regions who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Selected Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate. 

*NOTE FOR SERVING MEMBERS: Amidst current financial limitations and a federal directive to reduce defense spending within DND by a Billion dollars, serving members' participation in Soldier On events and activities will now be limited to within their own local region (i.e., selection for event outside of where they reside is unlikely). As a result, serving members are advised that participation beyond their local area is likely to be denied, as Soldier On cannot sponsor any temporary duty status for serving members in order to align with government guidelines for expenditure reduction. Unfortunately, serving members are not authorized to participate in Soldier On activities and events while on leave.*


Day 1 – 25 July
  • 10:30 Teaching Clinic: (1hour) Driving and Club Swing.
  • 11:30 Break.
  • 12:00 First tee-off time.
  • 15:00 Event Ends.
Day 2 – 26 July
  • 9:30 Teaching Clinic:  (1 hour) Putting and Chipping
  • 10:30 Break.
  • 11:00 First tee-off time.
  • 14:00 Event ends.
Participants are advised that meals and transportation will not be provided by Soldier On for this event. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location, travel and meals are not eligible for reimbursement for this event.

Mental & Physical Requirements:
Applicants must be able to tolerate 5 hours of moderate paced activities for 2 days in a row. Due to the busy activity schedule, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day. 

Applicants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment. Applicants are advised that this event is located at a Canadian Armed Forces bases/facilities, and thus they may be exposed to a day-to-day military environment.
