Lawn Bowling - Dartmouth, NS

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Lawn Bowling session 24 & 31 August at 1000 - 1300 (both sessions must be attended) is now open. The application deadline is 26 July 2024.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:
In collaboration with the Dartmouth Lawn Bowling Club, our members will have the opportunity to learn about lawn bowling and refine their skills under the guidance of exceptional coaches. The game is straightforward: players deliver a set number of bowls towards a pre-positioned target known as the 'jack'. Teams take turns bowling, aiming to place their bowls closer to the jack than their opponents' bowls. There will be an opportunity to learn all the terms build on the skills learned and some game play.

Lawn bowls' popularity stems from its unique accessibility, welcoming individuals of all ages, sizes, shapes, and abilities. We are committed to ensuring that participants in our sport receive coaching and resources tailored to their age and stage of development. We believe that early success and enjoyment in sports significantly enhance long-term participation.

Furthermore, our program includes adaptations for individuals facing physical challenges, ensuring inclusivity and opportunity for all who wish to enjoy the game of lawn bowls.

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 20.
