Yoga - NCR, ON
Soldier On will be partnering with Yoga and Wellness with Natalia to host a 6 week yoga program taking place 30 June, 7, 14, 21, 28 July, 4 August from 1100hrs to 1200hrs in Ottawa ON.
Up to 10 ill/injured serving or retired members of the Canadian Armed Forces will receive certified yoga instruction and practice a variety of yogic movements throughout the sessions. This program will assist in the continuation of a healthy lifestyle.
This activity will bring together both serving and retired ill/injured CAF members, allowing participants to connect through peer support and encourage a healthy and active lifestyle.
This yoga series has been designed specifically to help ill/injured serving members and veterans. These yoga sessions will consist of three aspects of yogic practice: movement, yogic breathing and mindfulness/meditation.

Each session will include 1 hour of instructor lead movements by the Service Provider. Participants should arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of class.
Classes will be held at Inner Soul Yoga (190 Colonnade Rd S #19, Nepean, ON).
All skills levels and abilities are welcome as the program will run at a pace comfortable for beginners but offer adaptations and/or challenges for those who would like them.

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 10.
Minimum Eligibility Criteria:
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)
from NCR who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.
Serving Members:
Medical clearance may be required by your chain of command.
Mental & Physical Requirements:
Participants must be able to tolerate 1 hour of light paced activity.
Participants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment.
Activity Environment:
Activity takes place in a private room at an indoor yoga studio. No music will be played during the session. Instructor can assist with special considerations as they arise.

Soldier On events are planned in accordance with municipal, provincial, territorial and federal public health measures (PHM) and regulations as well as the Canadian Armed Forces health policy and guidelines. The health and safety of Soldier On participants and staff, PSP staff, and CAF TG personnel are paramount. While specific safety precautions for each event will depend on the scope, scale and location of the event, the utmost care will be undertaken to ensure the risk associated with the spread of COVID-19 is very low.
Confirmation Details
The event OPI will confirm in writing with the participants selected for this activity.
An activity delivery questionnaire will be sent to selected participants to complete and return. This will assist the event OPI and the sport delivery partner with the planning of logistics and the activity.
A joining instruction will be issued prior to event; ensuring applicants are authorized to participate IAW applicable policies & eligibility criteria.
Conclusion
Yoga is an event which will encourage ill/injured serving CAF personnel and veterans to develop new skills, engage with others while personally challenging themselves.
